We are designed to function in community; we are social animals. While solitude in doses revives a soul, left alone, segregated, or dismissed, one can wander without direction, aimless.

To be cut off from a portion of one’s life, the mind grows to be a bit unsettled with the excess energy. This energy must be used since left alone it will wander into territories less favorable. Is this state a form of mental imbalance or a tool of survival?

Just as Geppeto created Pinocchio and Dr. Frankenstein, “the monster,” the Tinker creates to push away the solitude and more deeply to quell the fear and sadness of being passed over, dismissed. The Tinker narrates a story told to an audience of one, creating life to animate the silence.
